Argonne National Labs
The Deal
Argonne National Labs needed effective training programs to address "fitness for duty" in the workplace.
The Solution
CCC worked closely with Argonne to create scripted scenes from textbook scenarios. These dramatic scenes were designed to generate open-ended discussion, and included improvised scenarios so that participants could role-play within the scenes.
The Results
John Hyzer, who instructed the interactive Fitness For Duty sessions, called it "one of the most effective, most highly-rated workshops ever offered at Argonne. The success of this workshop is due to a large degree to the CCC actors' portrayal of realistic and dramatic employee encounters." CCC has been back several times to implement the same program.
Arthur Andersen Consulting
The Deal
Arthur Andersen needed gripping entertainment for an audience of recruiters convening in the suburbs of Chicago. The material had to be clever and relevant to the audience, highly entertaining, and appropriate to the corporate climate at Arthur Andersen.
The Solution
The Chicago Comedy Company created a highly customized performance focusing on the life of an Arthur Andersen Recruiter. CCC contacted several audience members before the event and conducted in-depth interviews to understand their unique perspective. Using this information, CCC wrote tailored sketches, and the Arthur Anderson contact had the opportunity to review and offer feedback. The final show was a huge success, blending original sketches and adapted improvisational games.
The Results
Katie Hollinger, who organized the event for Arthur Andersen, wrote "We had over 200 recruiters in attendance from around the world and your show's active involvement with participants really brought people together. Your customization was so realistic a lot of the audience actually thought you had worked for Arthur Andersen. People were slapping the tables and crying with laughter. Your performance absolutely soared above even our highest expectations."
Ernst & Young
The Deal
Ernst & Young was looking for a fun team building experience that would also expand their employees' presentation skills.
The Solution
CCC created a dynamic half-day workshop that involved each participant in a series of engaging improv exercises that allowed them to work together, build on each other's ideas, and trust in their own abilities to be spontaneous and creative.
The Results
At the end of the workshop, participants had a short time to work together to create partially improvised scenarios using a random assortment of costume pieces. The scenes provided the hilarious final challenge that participants are still laughing about! One participant wrote that the workshop "pushed people out of the comfort zone and got us to see each other in a different light...broke down barriers and got everyone involved."
